How old do you need to be to drive a jet ski?
You must be at least 12 years old to drive a waverunner in Wisconsin. However, if you were born after 01/01/1989 you must complete a boating safety course before you can legally drive a jet ski in Wisconsin. Anyone born before 01/01/1989 does not need to take the boating safety course, but it is highly recommended.
Do you need a special license to drive a waverunner?
If you were born before 01/01/1989 you do not need a boating safety certificate. If you were born after 01/01/1989 you need to take a boating safety course before you can legally drive a jet ski in Wisconsin.
Where and how do I take the boating safety course?
You can either take it online at Boat-Ed.com or BoaterExam.com, or in a classroom. If you are under the age of 16 you must take the boating safety course in the classroom and cannot take it online.
How old do you need to be a passenger on a jet ski?
There is no law that says you need to be a certain age to be a passenger on a jet ski. However, personal watercraft (PWC) manufacturers recommend that all passengers be able to rest their feet flat on the foot wells for stability and safety reasons.
How old do you need be to rent a jet ski?
To rent a jet ski, you must be 18 years of age or older because you must be able to legally sign a contract.
Are reservations required?
No. However, reservations are highly recommended.
What is your reservation cancelation policy?
With seven (7) days notice you can cancel your reservation without penalty. Any reservation deposits will be treated as a credit toward a future jet ski rental, snowmobile rental, or ATV rental.
Do you have to mix oil with the gas?
No. All of our jet skis have four-stroke engines so you do not need to mix gas and oil.
Who is responsible for purchasing fuel?
The renter is responsible for fuel. The waverunner rental comes with a full tank of gas. It is the responsibility of the renter to return the wave runner with a full take of gas.
Who is responsible for oil?
You are not charged for oil since our jet skis are four-stroke and do not consume oil.
How long will a full tank of fuel last?
It depends on numerous factors (e.g. water conditions, rider weight, riding style, etc.). On average, one tank of gas will usually last four (4) hours.
Are life jackets provided?
Yes. Each jet ski rental includes up to three (3) adult life jackets.
Do you offer child-size life jackets?
No. Because children come in so many different shapes and sizes, Power Sports Rental Network does not offer child-size life jackets.
Do you offer insurance?
No. Insurance is nonexistent for jet ski rentals.
What's the difference between a jet ski, waverunner, and personal watercraft (PWC)?
Nothing—they are all different names for the same thing. Personal watercraft (PWC) is a generic term for a type of boat. Jet Ski is a trademarked name for Kawasaki’s PWC’s and Waverunner is a trademarked name for Yamaha’s PWC’s. Some people think jet ski means it’s a stand-up PWC and waverunner means it’s a sit-down PWC. This is not true. There are stand-up and sit-down jet skis and there are stand-up and sit-down waverunners.
How fast do the jet skis go?
Like gas consumption, it depends on numerous factors (e.g. weight of the riders on the machine and the water conditions). However, under perfect conditions the jet ski’s top speed is around 55mph.
How do we transport the jet ski to the lake?
The rental price includes a trailer so you can tow your jet ski(s) anywhere you would like. Or we can deliver you jet ski rental anywhere you would like (delivery fee is based on distance from Appleton, WI).
Do you show us how to operate the jet skis?
Yes. When you take possession of the jet ski, we provide a operational overview and safety orientation.
How many people can ride on your Waverunners?
Each jet ski can carry up to three people (up to 529 pounds, total).
What size hitch do I need to tow a jet ski trailer?
Two (2) inch ball.
What type of wiring do I need to tow a jet ski trailer?
Four (4) prong flat plug.
If the watercraft rental becomes damaged while in my possession, am I responsible?
Yes. The renter is responsible for any and all damage done to the jet ski while it is in their possession.
What is considered a day?
One day is considered eight (8) hours.
Is a security deposit required?
Yes. A security deposit of $500 is required on every rental jet ski.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes. Any equipment rented for more than one day receives a 10% discount.
